I come from a medical family, so I enjoyed discussions about medicine long before I went to medical school. After beginning my own studies, I found I loved all specialties of medicine, but discovered my particular niche in dermatology—something no one else in my family had studied.

After my residency, I came to ���߲ݴ�ý Langone for a fellowship in dermatopharmacology—the study of medications for the treatment of skin diseases—and performed clinical research. However, I missed taking care of people.

In 1995, I began teaching residents and seeing patients at Bellevue Hospital. I never left. I love my role and am fascinated by conditions affecting women’s health, specializing in dermatologic issues during pregnancy and diseases associated with the vulva. 

I enjoy my work, not just as a physician to patients and a teacher to residents and medical students, but also as a lifelong learner. I am constantly learning from my patients and trainees.
